A prayer slips up to heaven

A mother stands head bowed and eyes closed before a window. She often prays before this bit of framed glass. Somehow she feels that her petition can easily slip out the window and rise up amongst the clouds to her Father. This evening she is asking; “How can I feed them Father? There are so many. They are always hungry. I am asking you to make a way.” She opens her eyes and sees a field of green grass which stretches far and wide. That field of grass became Creekside Community Garden and started us on the journey of growing our own food!

Wow, I look back at that time before we started the community garden, before I learned how to grow food for my family. I look back to a time when my front yard was still filled with grass and weeds instead of nutritious food, and I marvel at how far we have come. I recall even further back, before we had chickens and the nutritious eggs that went along with them, before we had meat from animals that had been raised humanely by our own hands; it seems like a different life altogether.

The Front Yard Garden in July. “Food not lawns!”

It didn’t happen all at once, but rather step by step and season by season. Many people taught me how to grow good food. Some of the veggies I learned to grow I hadn’t even heard of, let alone cooked and eaten.

Pastor Bruce taught me how to grow my own food at the community garden.

Can you believe I didn’t know what kale looked like! I am so thankful for the people who spent time teaching me and telling me what to plant, when. Some came along side me at the Community Garden and still others worked beside me in my front yard garden.

Then there were people who I learned from that I had never met. One of these people, that I have followed along on the internet for years, is Marjory Wildcraft. Marjory not only grows lots of food, but teaches people how to use what they grow for medicine. However, what she really specializes in is bringing people from all different walks of life and all different skills around the subject of growing your own food.

Marjory is offering us all a sneak peek at how she does it. I can’t wait to see and I didn’t want you to miss out on it either. Today she is giving us an opportunity to find out how she grows half of her family’s food in only one hour a day! For the next 72 hours you can view it for free and after that if you want to purchase the video for reference later you can do so at a very reasonable price. So click on the image below to find out how Marjory ROCKS at growing her own food!

Update: This opp has passed but check out Marjory on the Grow Network site https://thegrownetwork.com/ and see what she is up to!
