We are back from our hiking trip! It was amazing. We saw beauty, that people seldom see, around every corner. We pushed ourselves and then some! I told my hubby, going over the ridges is like having a baby; you know the next contraction is coming, but there is not a thing you can do about it, but ride it out & pray through it!

This trip was to celebrate 25 wonderful years together. I have to say that hiking Eagle Rock Loop was a lot like a marriage. Sometimes it was HARD! That first cold night I cried a little(don’t tell my boys) It was sooo cold. I wasn’t feeling well, but I knew I had to bring my emotions under control because my tissue(toilet paper roll) was just outside the tent! There was no way I was getting out of my sleeping bag to get it! It was cold ya’ll!

It was about lifting each other up when the other is down and out. (After that cold night I was greeted with a warm mug of hot chocolate) That was the BEST hot chocolate I will ever have!

It was about being flexible, rolling with the punches life throws your way and making the best of it. It was teamwork. Every time we put our packs back on we helped each other… counting 1,2,3, lift! They were heavy ya’ll!

We REALLY wanted to finish the whole loop, but turns out it wasn’t about the destination, but rather having fun along the way with the one you love… Enjoy a glimpse into our adventure!
