My front yard garden had its debut last fall with two 4 x 8 x 12 raised beds. In addition to squash, zucchini, butternut and acorn squash I planted pockets of giant zinnia seed which flowered beautifully and were a big hit with the neighbors!

We have a lot of rabbits running around our neighborhood so I protected my baby plants with chicken wire, but I knew this could not be a permanent solution. So in comes the fence. As I have mentioned before I have a slim budget for my garden. Because of this I have to think outside the box a bit. This time thinking outside the box meant making my fence out of free pallets. Looks like a sweet picket fence doesn’t it. Two sides done, two to go.

I will do a step by step tutorial on how to build a picket fence out of pallets next week. See here to learn how to build a sweet picket fence(that keeps the garden rabbit free) out of free pallets.
So excited to see my front yard garden taking shape!
FOOD, NOT LAWNS!
I can’t believe I am a front yard gardener, almost!
Blessings, Dash
