A Little Humble Pie on the Homestead

Have you ever finished a project and been quite proud of yourself? You worked hard, used your ingenuity and then it went horribly wrong. Well maybe this just happens to me. The exercise pen for the baby rabbits, to grow out in, was finally completed. They had room to run around and go into their cage at night for safety. Perfect, right. Wrong! We are getting an unseasonably amount of rainfall which is weird because I know some parts of the country are in severe drought. So the whole time I was building this pen I somehow did not remember that this is in a low part of yard. Friday night it starts to come down hard, really hard. Thank goodness at least I remember as the rain continues to fall that my babies could be in trouble. We rushed to the rescue just in the nick of time. We were soaked. They were soaked. My daughter fussed over them and blow dried them.

No harm done. I was tempted to forget that this ever happened and put forth the perfect urban homestead picture but I have said before that this is about being real and honest. If you can relate and would like to sit down and have a slice of humble pie with me than comment with your latest calamity that took you down a notch.

Please leave a comment. I love hearing from ya’ll.
