Front yard garden = community

I have a good friend. Well, I have many good friends but this one has been giving me garden advice for years. He has a wealth of knowledge from his grandfather! He will be joining me in my front yard garden!  Very excited to get his gardening know how and his witty sense of humor to boot.

One reason this came about is because in this season of life ,when we live on one income and have 5 kids who eat a lot, we don’t have money to sink into expanding the garden. So I had to think outside the box. Entered my friend Sam. He agreed to pay for the boards in two 8 x 4 x 12 raised beds. These beds will be his to garden for the year. A win win situation if I say so myself. Even if you can’t afford the boards to make the raised bed. Don’t let that stop you. Maybe there is someone on your block that would like a summer of homegrown tomatoes in exchange for the money for wood. Maybe there is someone who is older and has a wealth of knowledge but wants to leave the heavy lifting to you.

Get to know your neighbors. A beautiful friendship could bloom in amongst your veggies!

Welcome Sam!

Please leave a comment. I love hearing from ya’ll.
